Lambton OPP say officials are investigating a fatal house fire after a 74-year-old woman was found dead in a home on London Line, this week.
Police say officers responded to a report of an ‘unresponsive person’ shortly after 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 27, along with members of the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department and Lambton EMS.
“Following their arrival, police determined that the home had sustained a fire,” a news release stated. “A 74-year-old female from Plympton-Wyoming was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
Lambton OPP continue to investigate, along with the Lambton Crime Unit, OPP Forensics Identification Services (FIS), the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
"At this time, there is no other information outside of the media release," acting media officer Jeanine Robertson said in an email. "The investigation remains on going. Updates will be provided as the information becomes available."
