Police looking for suspect after break-in, attempted assault

Residents are being reminded to secure their homes after a break and enter and attempted sexual assault in Sarnia, Wednesday.

Police say the incident occurred around 4 a.m. at a Roger Street residence, where a suspect entered the home and “attempted to sexually assault the adult victim.

“The victim was able to defend herself and the suspect fled the residence,” a news release noted. “Police were called immediately and attended the area. No injuries were sustained by the victim.”

The suspect is described as being a white male, in his 30s, wearing a black jacket, black jogging pants, tattoos on his hands, goatee, and shorter hair.

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch and the Forensics Identification Unit have examined the scene and canvassed the area for witnesses and video footage. Police say there have been no similar reported incidents.
