Sarnia hosting regional high school tennis championships

Sarnia is hosting the 2019 Southwestern Ontario high school tennis championships on Oct. 15. The tournament features the region’s best young players, who each qualified by advancing through two previous elimination tournaments.

The tournament features the region’s best young players, who each qualified by advancing through two previous elimination tournaments.

The Sarnia Riding Club and the Sarnia Tennis Club are hosting and providing the courts.

The top two players in each category will qualify for the all-Ontario championships in June at the Aviva Center in Toronto, home to the Rogers Cup won recently by Canada’s Bianca Andreescu.

Play begins at 9.30 a.m. and matches will continue through the day until about 4 p.m.
