Sarnia Journal to offer high school co-op for students interested in journalism

The Sarnia Journal team is pleased to offer high school cooperative education opportunities for students interested in exploring journalism. The position is primarily remote, but will involve some in-person meetings and assignments.

The Sarnia Journal team is pleased to offer high school cooperative education opportunities for students interested in exploring journalism.

The position is primarily remote, but will involve some in-person meetings and assignments.

Students will be expected to write stories about what is happening in their school and community. Their work will be published on the Sarnia Journal’s website and possibly in the print editions when they return.

“We are excited to offer these positions to high school students who are interested in journalism, writing and media literacy,” said Tara Jeffrey, editor of The Sarnia Journal. “This is a great opportunity for students to learn more and have their work published.”

We’re looking for students who are:

  • Interested in journalism
  • Strong writing and photography skills
  • Video/Audio journalism will also be an option
  • Able to work independently and good with time management
  • Available to work 10-15 hours per week towards their high school cooperative   education credit
