The transition marks the fourth new CEO since 2017 for the agency that’s funded by the County of Lambton.

The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership has named its new interim CEO following the departure of Dan Taylor, who held the position for 18 months.
“The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership and CEO Dan Taylor have decided to part ways, and Matthew Slotwinski has accepted the position of Interim CEO, effective immediately,” the economic development agency said in a news release this month. “The board thanks Dan for his contributions and wishes him the best with his future endeavours.”
No other details were given about Taylor's departure, and SLEP’s interim board chair did not respond to followup requests for comment.
The transition marks the fourth new CEO since 2017 for the agency that’s funded by the County of Lambton.
Taylor was hired in July 2022, replacing Judith Morris, who took over as interim CEO following the resignation of Stephen Thompson earlier that year.
Thompson served as CEO from 2017-2022 following the retirement of George Mallay, who served in the role for 21 years and played a key role in establishing the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research and Development Park.
SLEP is a private-public partnership that promotes economic activity in Sarnia-Lambton.
Slotwinski has been with the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership for 13 years in various roles and is currently the VP of economic development.
“I’ve experienced many changes, milestones, and transformations in our community during my 13 years with the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership,” he said in a news release, which noted his roles in helping the Sarnia-Lambton Hybrid Chemistry Cluster, Ontario’s Hydrogen Hub, and Sarnia-Lambton Energy & Chemistry Cluster gain international recognition, attracting new investment and employment to the area.
“I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges this new position brings. 2024 is going to be an exciting year, and our team is eager to continue the exceptional work we deliver to the community.”
