Literacy Lambton’s Train Your Brain program is continuing to gain momentum across the county, with organizers reporting strong participation and positive feedback from families as the initiative heads into its next round of sessions this spring.

The free program, designed for students in Grades 3 and 4, combines literacy and numeracy learning with hands-on activities intended to build confidence and engagement in a supportive environment. Recent sessions have included themed exercises such as an Animals of the World challenge, grocery budgeting and money math activities, cursive writing practice, and a root-word scavenger hunt, blending academic skill-building with interactive learning.

Train Your Brain has been offered at multiple sites throughout Lambton County, with locations in Sarnia and Thedford drawing steady interest. A new program site in Alvinston will be added for the upcoming spring session, reflecting growing demand in smaller communities.

The initiative focuses on foundational reading and math skills at a key stage in students’ development. Literacy Lambton says the play-based approach helps learners strengthen comprehension, vocabulary and problem-solving while also improving self-confidence in the classroom.

Registration for the spring session is now open through the Literacy Lambton website. Participation remains free of charge, with spaces reserved exclusively for students in Grades 3 and 4.

Train Your Brain is one of several programs offered by the organization, which continues to provide literacy support for both children and adults across Lambton County through community partnerships and donor support.
