Shelters, libraries and community facilities are serving as warming centres during weather warnings to provide residents with safe, heated spaces across the region.
As extreme weather alerts are issued across Lambton County, local shelters and public facilities are opening their doors as warming centres to ensure residents have access to safe, heated indoor spaces. These locations are available during weather warnings only and include shelters, libraries, and community health centres throughout the area.
During extreme weather events, both the Overflow Shelter and the Good Shepherd’s Lodge will allow individuals to come inside to stay warm, even if they are not booked for a bed. Individuals without a bed can enter the warming centre at any time during the alert period, but they cannot go in and out of the building throughout the night.
