Point Edward’s waterfront walking trail around the LAWSS water treatment plant will be restricted to the public again this winter.

Point Edward’s waterfront walking trail around the LAWSS water treatment plant will be restricted to the public again this winter.
Plant manager Susan Macfarlane said a low-rise guard rail was installed to keep snow removal equipment from falling into the water.
“But we got feedback from the public that they thought the rail was a tripping hazard, so the decision was made to remove the rail,” she said.
The gate will be locked once snow and ice becomes a hazard and reopen on March 31, she said.
