The City of Sarnia is inviting residents to beat the winter chill and stay active, social, and inspired with the upcoming 2026 winter recreation programming. Registration for the full lineup opens on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

The full program schedule, which runs from January 2 to March 27, 2026, will be available for review starting December 2, 2025, on the City’s website. City programs are offered primarily through the Strangway Centre.

The programming serves about 1,800 to 2,000 participants annually through a lineup of over 85 programs and activities. This year’s schedule includes returning favourites alongside some new offerings including:

  • Drop-In Jam Session

  • Gentle Yoga

  • Chair Qigong

  • Open Art Studio

  • Rudimentary Tech Literacy

  • The Facts and Chat Series

  • Day Trips

Activities Programmer Mike Neely noted that the diverse schedule ensures there’s "something for everyone to enjoy," covering everything "from fitness and wellness to arts and social programs". He added that the lineup features "no shortage of ways to shake off the cold weather and make the most out of the winter season".

 

Registration begins on December 16, 2025. Residents have several options to complete the registration process:

  • Online on the City’s registration page.

  • By Phone: Call 519-332-0656 during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • In Person: Register at the Strangway Centre at 260 East St N, Sarnia, ON N7T 6X7. during business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • City Hall at 255 Christina Street North, Sarnia, ON N7T 7N2. during business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
