Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Vision Nursing Home, Donald Winslow Bacon passed away at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Cheryl Bacon. Loving father of Bradley and Gaylyn (Sean), and step-father of Christopher and Shawn (Katrina). Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Marc, Mackenzie, Brent, Calista, Griffin, William, Sam, and Quinn and many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his daughter Beth (2009), son Scott (Pam) (2020), daughter Brenda (Scott) (2025), parents Francis and Dorothy Bacon, sister Patricia (Betty) Bell (Bacon), and good friend and mother of his children Lorraine (2023).
Don loved animals, especially his dear Bichon Frise dogs. He also enjoyed birdwatching. He had a great sense of humour and was very sociable, always making friends easily. Don was a car enthusiast and everyone will remember him for his gold Corvette.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
