Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 76 years of age. Mike was the devoted father of Michelle Dragon (Marc), Joanne Featherstone (Tony), and Andrea Burchert (Andrew). Proud Grampy of Luke, Hannah, Taylor and Axel. Mike was looking forward to the arrival of his fifth grandchild, Andrea and Andrew’s first child, expected in September. Brother of Marilyn, Faye, Charles (Pat), the late Kenneth “Kookie”, and the late Lawrence “Larry” (Margaret). Son of the late Kenneth and Jeannette Bowser. Mike will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Mike was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, which has always been a special place to him, with many return visits over the years. In his teens, he moved to Toronto with his family where he held several jobs, most notably working for the post office, GM, and then as a transport truck driver. Later in life he made Petrolia (Sarnia) his home, where he enjoyed the community for over 10 years. He loved music, movies, sports, games, travel, and get-togethers.

Above all, Mike was a devoted family man. He was a proud and loving father to his three daughters, a cherished Grampy, brother, and uncle.

Mike will be deeply missed and always remembered for his generous spirit, his loyalty to family, his phone calls to check in, his amusing stories, and the long-lasting friendships he created throughout his life.

The family would like to thank the staff at the following hospitals for their compassionate care of Mike: Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (Petrolia), North York General Hospital (Toronto), Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Toronto), Baycrest Health Sciences, (Toronto) and Joseph Brant Hospital (Burlington).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 12 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 486 (79 Jones Street, Oakville, Ontario, L6L 3E6). Lunch will be provided. The family kindly requests that all attendees wear blue to the event as a tribute to Mike’s favourite colour.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
