Peacefully, surrounded by family, at Afton Park Place on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the age of 85. Cherished wife of the late Miguel Cabral for 53 years. Loving mother to the late Jose (Maria) Cabral of Sarnia and Virginia (late Pat) Sinaguglia of Mississauga. Adored Vavo of Stephanie Cabral, Michael, Victoria and Elizabeth Sinaguglia (Tyler Harniman). Loving Great Vavo to Adriana and Brooks. Sister to John Cordeiro (Tiberia) of Sarnia and Deolinda Cordeiro of London. Sister-in-law to Aldora Cordeiro and Luis Cordeiro. Predeceased by her siblings Jose Cordeiro, Margarida Cordeiro and Gilda Cordeiro, all of London, and her nephew Tiberio Cordeiro of Sarnia. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Lurdes adored her family and always enjoyed the opportunity to bring them together for meals and celebrations. She loved to sew and crochet and spent many hours in her garden. Her unwavering faith kept both herself and her loved ones grounded throughout her life. Her infectious smile and sense of humour brought joy to the many lives she touched. A special thanks to the many nurses and personal support workers at Afton Park Place who showed great care and compassion for Lurdes (Mama) and whom she loved tremendously. Visitation will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will also take place at SMITH FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to their charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home, please).
