Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sheila Dorothy Cain passed away at the age of 81. Beloved mother of Paul Cain (Tracey Lanoue), the late Mark (Beth) Cain and Jason (Laura) Cain. Loving grandmother of Nik and Carley, Justin and Emily and Hudson. Predeceased by her parents John and Doris Thorpe, and by her siblings Phyllis, Stanley and Alan.
Sheila was born in Liverpool, England and later moved to Vancouver BC in 1968. She then moved to Calgary AB before moving to Sarnia to join her brother Alan where she lived for 50 happy years. Sheila was a cook with Chefs papers in two countries and spent the majority of her working years in both Hospitals in Sarnia. In her retired years she worked at BINGO Land where she made countless friends and acquaintances. Her favourite pastimes included supporting both her kids and grandkids in whatever their passions and pursuits, be that soccer, football, gymnastics and dance. In Sheila’s time spent at Twin Lakes Terrace, she met many new friends and enjoyed participating in social events and activities. Sheila will forever be remembered as someone who was always there for everyone else. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. As per Sheila’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Sheila’s ashes will be scattered at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph's Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
