The Campbell family mourns the passing of their Father, Robert Sylvester Campbell at the age of 94. Dad is survived by his daughters Diane Lambert (Jim), Wendy Campbell, Cheryl Aylward (Mike) and his son Robert (Bob) Campbell (Heather) and daughter-in-law Irene Campbell. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren April, Stuart, Shannon, Michael, Erick, Jason, Shawna, Beverley, Sam, Madeleine and Blake, and 14 great-grandchildren Richard, Andrew, Alex, Carter, Brody, Javon, Zander, Xavier, Logan, William, Jack, Henry, Scarlett and Hudson. He was predeceased by the love of his life and high school sweetheart Donna Campbell (Blake) (2008), sons Richard Campbell (1995) and Charles Campbell (2022), and granddaughters Monica Lambert (1990) and Tanya Campbell (2000). Dad was the son of Gordon and Hattie Campbell and brother of Stan, Bill, Doug and sister Patricia. He was a hard worker and a feisty proud man who loved to get up and do a soft shoe dance when the music moved him, and it always did! Dad loved to reminisce about his childhood and his own family including many years of family camp and traditional Campbell Christmases. He was a proud employee at Polysar for 38 years and a prouder retiree of 38 years, and was affectionately known on his work crew as Sledgehammer Bob. One of Dad's passions was building and renovating homes as well as crafting fine furniture. He had incredible strength and endurance as a result of the demanding labour that building required. Dad and Mom spent many happy years square dancing with the Rolling Eights. Thank you to Dr. Butler, Dr. Tong, Dr. Patodia, Dr. Al-Saadon, Dr. Abdalla, Dr. Dhanjani, and the Bluewater Health palliative team including Dr. Crombeen and Dr. MacSweeney. Thanks for the special care that PSW Karen and the personal home support Cindy provided with love and affection. A private family interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile (CCMF), e-transfers available at [email protected], or charity of your choice would be appreciated (cheques only at the funeral home please).
