Suddenly, on January 14, 2026, William “Billy” Wayne Carroll passed away at his residence at the age of 54.
Billy loved fishing and sunny-day car rides with the music cranked up and his boys by his side. Those rides often included some legendary car-seat dance moves and some truly terrible (but enthusiastic) singing. He will be fondly remembered for his love of animals, working on cars, home renovations, and building or fixing just about anything. There truly wasn’t much Billy couldn’t build or repair. He was known as a “master of all trades,” though anyone who knew him would say he mastered more than he ever gave himself credit for. He fixed the family furnace at just 10 years old and went on to repair nearly every appliance that crossed his path.
Billy had the biggest, warmest, brightest smile and an even bigger heart. He was endlessly kind, always helping others in any way he could. He was, quite simply, one of the most selfless people you could ever meet.
Beloved and proud father of Gavin and Nathan Rastin-Carroll. Cherished grandfather of Melody Rastin-Carroll and Mattie Marentette. Loving son of Marie Carroll. Dear brother of Jackie Scott (Randy), Donnie Carroll, Nellie Carroll, Anne Marie Carroll (Chris), Dave Carroll, and Shaun Carroll (Amanda). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family: Shelly Rastin (Kevin), Sharon Acres, Cheryl Maronets, Andrew Maronets and his god daughters Makayla Dupuis, Jessica Graham and Kaitlyn Jakimczuk-Graham. Billy was predeceased by his father, Dave Carroll, and his “father by heart,” Richard Acres and Rob Maronets his brother in law.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Billy’s Life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared soon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a GoFundMe established for his son, Nathan, to help support him through the emotional and financial hardships resulting from the sudden loss of his father and to assist with living expenses as he works toward stability (https://gofund.me/1594edac4).
