Paul Chartrand a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Jan,3,2026 at Bluewater health at the age of 91.
Born in 1934 in Cochrane, Ontario Paul tragically lost his father when he was 12. Paul and his mother relocated to Kapuskasing and later moved to Ottawa were Paul completed his high school education at the university of Ottawa.
Paul relocated to Sarnia, Ontario where through shear determination he secured a position at Imperial Oil as a process operator. Upon his retirement in 1989, he took up woodworking and a variety of other crafts, became a long-time member of the Triple C Carving Club in Sarnia, and was always available to help others. He was a proud resident of Point Edward where he lived his entire adult life. Over the years he enjoyed the company of many wonderful neighbours and friends and was always willing to lend a supportive hand.
Paul was predeceased by his loving wife Laura of 55 years, he was also predeceased by his mother Madeline and his stepfather Delbert Jackson, his devoted son Mark and great-grandson Lawerence. He is survived by his children Yvon (Lana), Lisa (Mike Moore), and daughter-in-law Jackie; cherished grandchildren Paul (Andrea), Jackson (Sandra), Andrew (Nicole), Ashley (Lee Geerts), Amanda (Kyle Leystra), Amy, Matthew, Lauren (Brandon McLead), Kaitlyn (Abdrew), Carley, Sarah, Victoria and Christopher. Proud great grandfather to Garrison, Felix, Nadia, Naomi, Aiden, Bemjamin, Theodore, Adeline, Jack, Gwendalyn, Posie and Sonny.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care dad received from the medical team at Bluewater Health.
Paul’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and love of his family will endure. Dearly missed…forever loved.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McKenzie Blundy Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at sacred Heart Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, celebrated by Fr. John Pirt. Donations can be made to the Cancer Society or charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
