It is with broken hearts that the family of Keith Robert Childs announce his sudden passing on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the age of 58. Keith is the loving son of Lyle and the late Martha Childs. Cherished brother of Brenda Childs and dear uncle of Brock DiMaria whom he shared a very special bond. Survived by his cousins Gayle Poore and Elaine (Jeff) Bohnert. After a tragic accident when he was 16 years old, Keith faced many challenges but never let them stop him from all life had to offer, and he never dwelled on his disability. Keith was known for his quick wit and sense of humor; he told it like it was and in turn made many friends along the way. He was sharp as a tac and had excellent knowledge in investments and the stock market. Keith and his father Lyle shared a lot of time together and especially loved cruises where he could usually be found spending his time aboard playing table games and socializing with other passengers. Keith will be remembered for his kind heart and bravery and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the ladies of the March of Dimes for their many years of service as well as an extra special thank you to Keith’s favourite nurse Debbie from the V.O.N. who has been by his side since 1983 and was considered a part of their family. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the March of Dimes or to Diabetes Canada (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
