Mr. Frederick “Fred” DeWeyn, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Chatham at the age of 87 years. He was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late John and Rosalie (Neve) DeWeyn. Beloved husband of Rose (De Kort) DeWeyn. Dear father of Michelle (Tyler) Miller and Cheryl (Wes) Glover-Huff. Dear grandfather of Josh, Justine, Saundra, Jeff and great grandfather of Everleigh, Colson, Alyssia, Dawson, Alora, Henley and Hudson. Survived by a sister-in-law Betty (John) Williams and a sister-in-law Jenny De Kort. Predeceased by a son-in-law Terry Glover, his brother Joe (Mary) DeWeyn, his sisters Connie (Rene) Lauwereys and Helen (Don) Moore, his brothers-in-law August De Kort, Phil (Judy) De Kort and sisters-in-law Anne (Roger) Holmes and Martha (Elwood) Bird. Fred is survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He worked for the Post Office and delivered the mail in Wallaceburg for many years. After retirement he enjoyed golfing and fishing. Following with his wishes, cremation will take place followed by a private family celebration. Arrangements entrusted to the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg.
