Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Mario Di Brita passed away at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Maria Di Brita for 51 years. Loving father of Barbara Di Brita (John Kennedy), Nick Di Brita, and Andrea Di Brita. Cherished nonno of Alex, Ari and Aubrey. Treasured brother of Rosanna Di Brita Z. (Miguel Zuniga) and Antonio Di Brita (Antonina Caruso). Dear brother-in-law of Nicola Micele (Dina) and Giuseppe Micele (Tamara). Loving zio of Rosa, Leo, Jordan, Stefania, Sebastiao and Gabriel. Predeceased by his parents Nicolino and Oliva Di Brita and his in-laws Leonardo and Rosina Micele. Mario’s biggest passion was music – he was a well-known tenor within the community and a member of the International Symphony Orchestra. Mario was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 128, and he was also a talented ornamental iron worker. Mario loved to entertain family and friends in his home. Above all else, Mario loved his family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family wishes to thank Trillium Villa Nursing Home for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Benedict’s Church, 1011 Oak Avenue, Sarnia, on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. An entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
