We must sadly advise the passing of Richard (Dick) Fletcher (88) from a broken heart.
Having lost his dear wife only 36 short days ago His family now mourn the loss. Dick and Audrey married in Manchester England in 1958 and immigrated to Canada in 1966 where he had a successful career as an electrical engineer technologist for over six decades having been employed through Schafer-Townsend, Dow Chemical and Tecsar.
He worked until he was 82 and spent the last six years spending quality time with Audrey watching the woman’s channel reflecting on their love of 67 years. He loved cheering on the Toronto Raptors, the Manchester United and doing jigsaw puzzles. He enjoyed great chin wags with his Scottish and British boys at local watering holes. Family get-togethers were important to Dick and loved spending time with his entire family always curious knowing how they were doing.
He will be sadly missed by his children David (Karon), Ian (Silvia), Alan (Betty) Kevin, Wendy (Brian). His Grandchildren Dustin, Emily, Kenny (Renee) Scott, Kayla (Phil) Melissa, Cody, Kimberly, Domenic and Victoria (Troy) and the great grandkids Alexis, Trace, Luke, Aurora, Bentley, Bailey, Jade, and Bryson.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Bluewater Health.
If you wish, sympathy may be expressed through donations to a charity close to your heart (cheques only at the funeral home please).
Please join us for a drop in on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, between 1:00 to 4:00 PM to celebrate Dicks life with the story or two.
We are comforted knowing our parents are together again.
