Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Robert “Bob” Harwood passed away at the age of 97. Beloved husband of the late Joyce Harwood. Loving father of Patricia (Grant) Lines and Robert Jr. Harwood (Julie Gibbons). Cherished grandfather of Matt Harwood, Chris Harwood and Bailey Lines.
Dad spent many joyful years with Joyce at her parents’ home on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron, a place that brought him so much happiness. He cherished the sunshine, the freedom of being on the water, and the quiet magic of lake life. In the early years he constructed boats in his parents’ basement and handcrafting his own water skis. He was among the first on the lake to glide across its surface.
A talented woodworker, Dad brought his craftsmanship into nearly every season of his life. His hands were rarely still in retirement, always at work on a new project that reflected his skill, patience, and care. Everything he built held a piece of his heart.
When he wasn’t in his workshop or out on the water, he enjoyed the quiet challenge of a round of golf. But more than anything, he treasured time spent with family and his furry friends. His warmth, laughter, and unwavering presence will be missed deeply and remembered always.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to a charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
