Peacefully, on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, Brian David Joseph James passed away at the age of 78 at home in Sarnia, Ontario. He was born on February 12, 1946, to Catherine and Frederick James in Brentford, England and was predeceased by his brother, Fred James. Brian graduated from Central High School in Brantford, Ontario, after winning many rugby games and becoming Ontario champions. He then went on to work at DOW in 1966 until it closed in Sarnia. Brian was deeply loved by his wife of 57 years, Judy James; his three daughters, Tracey Machan (Ken), Kelly James (Dennis) and Corrie James. Nothing brought him more joy than being “Grump” to his grandchildren, Craig and Brianne Machan. Brian was an armchair expert in all sports, especially football and rugby (“rugger” as he called it). His love of family and sense of humour will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As Brian requested, no funeral or memorial service will be held, but we encourage you to think of him when you play your favourite song as loud as you can.
