It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Wayne Norman James on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Judy Morrison. Loving father of Kory (Cynthia) James, Kelly Dunlop (Bill Middleton), Matt James (Emi), and Devon James. Cherished Poppy of Landon Barlow. Dear brother of Wanda (Jeff) Richard, Woodrow (Bev) James, and Catherine James-Traquair (Doug). He will be especially missed by Vanessa Brody and Jacqueline Cushman as well as several other nieces, nephews, and extended family. Wayne will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Predeceased by his parents Woodrow and Irene James. Wayne was born on November 17, 1950 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and he was a proud Newfoundlander throughout his entire life. Wayne was a proud member of UA Local 663. He was well respected for his talent in the trade with his ability to mentor and teach our future generation of trades people. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also had a love for camping with friends and family. Wayne also loved scuba diving and he turned his passion into instructing others. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, and metal working. Above all else, he was the proudest Poppy to “Pop’s Man” Landon. The relationship between Landon and Wayne was the most precious bond in his life. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private service will be held at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to The Lung Association (cheques only at the funeral home please).
