Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Chester Januszkiewicz passed away at the age of 93.Reunited with his beloved wife of 71 years Jean (Janina) Januszkiewicz. Dear father of Richard (Pam), John (Krys), Christopher (Franca) and Denny (Julie). Loving grandfather of Jennifer Ellwood (Tyson), Rick Januszkiewicz (Sara), Jason Januszkiewicz (Amanda), James Januszkiewicz (Chantal), Bryan Januszkiewicz (Amy), Stephen Januszkiewicz, Michael Januszkiewicz (Kirsten), Randy Januszkiewicz (Samantha), Taylor Januszkiewicz and Ashley Januszkiewicz. Great-grandfather of Haley, Jorja, Cameron, Asher, Nixon, Isabella, Clara, Logan, Eden, Hunter, Zoey, Leiah, Isabella, Giavanna, Wraith and Baby Girl Januszkiewicz who is on the way. Predeceased by his parents Anastasia (Tony) Fiedukowicz and Alexander Januszkiewicz, granddaughter Kayla Januszkiewicz, and his sister Regina (Alex) Hafner. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and his cousins.
Chester was born in Nowogrόdek, Poland. With struggles growing up during the war, Chester and his family came to Canada in the late 1940’s. He spent many years at Holmes Foundry where he became a foreman. Chester enjoyed countless days fishing. Above all, he cherished every moment with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved dearly. Thank you to all of the staff at Lambton Meadowview Villa and Dr. Buckton for their dedication and care over the past 6 months.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Rd, Sarnia, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers being offered at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Church, 566 Rosedale Ave, Sarnia, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
