Lisa was born in Kincardine, raised in Sarnia, and resided most of her adult life in Peterborough and Whitby, Ontario. She lived a life filled with laughter, love, and more than just a touch of shenanigans. She left this world after a short but courageous battle with cancer and was surrounded by those who loved her most.

Lisa was the daughter of Judy and the late Raymond Mallette, and sister to Tony (Melissa) and Michael. Lisa was a rock star aunt to Rylie Healy (Cole), Abbigail, Marcel, and Angel. She often shared stories of her illustrious college basketball career, complete with scrapbook and old newspaper articles. She shared her life and heart with her devoted partner, Robert Hunt, and together they built a blended family filled with warmth, humor, and the occasional good-natured chaos.

Lisa was a proud and loving mom to Ashley Smith Murney (Quinton), Brad Smith (Matt). They were her greatest source of pride and joy. She embraced Rob’s family as her own: Rachael Brough, Miles (Wes), Jason Hunt (Kayley), Valerie Hunt, Tony and Denise, Megan (Devon), Matthew (Jessica), Val and Les. Lisa was previously deceased by Rob’s father David and his brother Mitchell.

Her “fur family” included Levi, Stella, Waylon, Eddie, Owen and Ember who never left her side whenever they were together. Whether they had two legs or four, Lisa had more than enough love to go around.

Lisa’s life was defined by her fierce love of her children, her laughter that filled every room, and her ability to make others “feel lighter” just by being near her. Her spirit will continue to echo in every joke told, every memory shared, every song sung, and every burst of laughter that comes when it is least expected. This is exactly how she would want it.

A Celebration of Lisa’s Life will be held at a later date. In the meantime, raise a glass, share a laugh, and remember Lisa as she would want to be remembered – smiling, strong, and surrounded by love.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to your local Humane Society. Causes close to her heart and reflect her compassion for people and animals alike.
