Mammen, Rinelde Reinhardine (Nellie/Nelde) nee Siebels.
Born January 29, 1936 in Carolinensiel, Germany. Peacefully passed away January 20, 2024 in Dutton Ontario.
Beloved wife of the late Erich Mammen (2020). Nellie is sadly missed by many relatives in Canada and Germany including siblings Mariechen Hildebrand (Hermann deceased Dec 2023), Emil Peters (Tilly), Hedda Elderbrock (Menhard), Maike Peters (Manfred Wittor) and many nieces and nephews including Lucie Veith (Hans-Werner), Beate (Hans-Georg), Hanna (Reinhold), Rineld (Rick), Elke (Hans-Jurgen), Anke Becker (Karl-Heinz), Sigrid Kleeman (Hans), George Mammen (Teresa), Christine Rybiak (George), Kathy Saunders(Eric) and their families. Predeceased by parents Lucas Adolf Siebels (1936) and Johanne Rike Martha Siebels (1989) nee Becker.
Nellie immigrated to Canada in 1963 and settled with her husband Erich in Lambton Shores area where they farmed for many years. Nellie was a capable and adventurous soul who worked hard and enjoyed the outdoors and exploring off the beaten track throughout North and Central America with Erich.
Friends and family continue to remember Nellie with thankfulness for the impact she made on their lives.
A Celebration of Nellie’s life will be held at Gilpin Funeral Chapel in Forest on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment to follow at Ravenswood Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Christine O’Reilly officiating.
A special thank you to the staff at Bobier Villa for their kind and compassionate care of Nellie in her final years. Thank you also to Lucie Vieth who maintained contact with Nelde’s siblings in Germany while she was in nursing care at Bobier Villa.
