It is with saddened hearts that the McNiece family announces the passing of Gregory Keating McNiece on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Hazel McNiece. Dear father of Crystal (& Patrick Carter), Victoria (& Jeremy Wright) and Jeffrey McNiece (& Joanne Brouwer). Cherished grandfather of Valentine Hauser, Cole Hauser, Jeremy Forest, Vanessa Forest, Gauge Coultis, Kai Klatt, Jerod Wright, Navia Wright, Autumn Klatt and Tessa Klatt. Beloved brother of Andrew (Blair) McNiece, and Christine Ball. Dear brother-in-law of Charlie Leslie, Dennis Minard, Anne Leslie and Jim Leslie. Cherished by remaining family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Andrew McNiece and Kathleen (Keating) Stinton of Cambridge, ON.
Gregory was a Carpenter by trade, later becoming a Transport Truck Driver known as the “White Rabbit”. The time in-between trades he took a position working for the city of Owen Sound in the Park and Rec where he pursued a personal passion for landscaping and maintenance. It was during this time he was honored for the Harrison Park Inn Fundraiser Initiative that rebuilt after a fire. Many recognize him as a face of Sam the Record Mans until its doors closed. Others will associate him with the family business in Cambridge where he worked as a young man alongside in his father’s factory.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration in Owen Sound of Greg’s life will be announced at a later date. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer Society or Liver Canada to support research. Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, where memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca
