James David “Jim” Moss passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on March 19, at the age of 86. Jim was born on November 29, 1938, in Guelph, Ontario. The son of the late Winifred (Gladys) and Thomas Moss and eldest brother of Bev (George), Sandra, Tom (Sue) and Steve (Mary Lynn). Beloved husband of Amelia (Milly) Moss for 34 years. He will be deeply missed by his eight children and lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Guelph, Jim built lasting friendships, and his generous spirit and infectious smile left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to working at ITT and found joy in riding his motorcycle in his downtime.

In 1997, Jim and Milly made the decision to move to Corunna. Jim could often be found puttering around in the barn, working on cars, or spending quiet evenings on his deck, enjoying the view of the St. Clair River. His life in Corunna was defined by connection, whether it was through his long standing membership at the Corunna Legion, spending days at the Body Shop for a coffee break with many good friends, or enjoying simple pleasures like sitting on the bench at the corner of Paget and Lyndoch Street with a cup of Tim Hortons in hand, sharing many laughs and conversations with friends.

To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jim was known and loved as "Papa”. He never missed a milestone, whether it was a graduation, birthday, or sporting event. He took pride in their accomplishments, always cheering on from the sidelines. Throughout his life, Jim remained young at heart and enjoyed teasing the kids – famous for his catchphrases that always had his family laughing.

Jim was a natural storyteller, often sharing memories from his childhood and of his children and grandchildren. His stories reflected a life full of experiences, love, and meaningful connections with those around him.

Jim is now reunited with his parents as well as his dogs, Jasmine and Hunter. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, and the reminder that the best moments in life are those we share with the ones we hold dear. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Dr. Nicholas Latham for his efficient diagnosis and to Dr. Allison Crombeen and all the nurses and staff in Palliative Care at Bluewater Health for their exceptional kindness and care.

In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Corunna Legion (350 Albert Street, Corunna).

Bye for now, Jim.
