Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Wilma Pretty passed away at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Alan (2005). Loving mother of Gary, Brad (Alice), Kirk (the late Nancy), Dale, Darren, Geoff, and Julie (Lee), and the late Bruce (Jackie) and the late Alan. Cherished grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Adored Auntie to many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of Ken, Harold, and Gary. Predeceased by her siblings Jack, Don, Winston, Winnie, Jeanette, Ruth, and Joyce. Wilma was a proud active member of the CWL since 1957 and acted as a past President. For many years she devoted her Saturday mornings at Queen of Peace Church as a flower arranger and took pride in the Altar. Wilma was very proud of her gardening and yard work skills, she enjoyed arts and crafts and baking for her family. She was very independent and active up until the end. Wilma was known as a second mom to many neighbourhood kids through the years. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Queen of Peace Church, 566 Rosedale Ave, Sarnia, on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. An interment of ashes will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton, St. Joseph’s Hospice, or St. Vincent de Paul (cheques only at the funeral home please).
