Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on June 16th 2025 at Bluewater Health. Rita Restivo passed away at the age of 65. Loving wife to Jack Restivo. Dedicated mother to Pietro Restivo (Jenny) and Jessica Basacco (David). Proud Nonna to Eva Restivo. Devoted daughter of Anna DeCiantis and the late Leonardo DeCiantis. Loving sister to Joanne Flamminio (Domenic). She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Frances, Luisa and Janet and brother-in-laws Cosimo, Carmelo, Enrico and the late Giuseppe Restivo. Aunt to Kristen, Thomas, Michelle, Danielle, Maria, Antonietta, Pietro F, Pietro E, Peter, Maria, Christina, Jennifer and Frank.
Rita dedicated 45 years to RBC and after retiring, embraced life’s quieter joys cherishing time with friends, learning new things like how to swim, and most of all, being with her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than family gatherings and the moments spent with her beloved granddaughter, Eva. She treasured every second with her laughing, playing, teaching her Italian, and surrounding her with love. Being a nonna was one of Rita’s greatest joys.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia ON, N7T 7H4. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 1465 Lecaron Ave, Sarnia, ON N7V 3J4. Entombment will follow the service at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia.
