Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Bluewater Health, Vassiliki Salma passed away at the age of 95. Born in Stefaniada, Greece. Beloved wife of the late Konstantinos Salmas. Loving mother of Christina (Lambros) Tsaprailis of Sarnia, Sotiria (the late Athanasios) Kalabalikis of Windsor, and Lambros (Souli) Salmas of Greece. Cherished grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 13. Survived by her brothers Apostoles Karaouzas of Greece and Panayiotis Karaouzas of the United States. Survived by her brother-in-law Theoharis Salmas of Greece. Predeceased by her parents Evangelos and Efstathia Karaouzas, her siblings Eleftheria, Sofia, Georgios, and Hristodoulos, and brother-in-law Evangelos and sisters-in-law Evangelia, Irini and Hrisoula all of Greece. Vassiliki will be missed by her extended family in Canada, the United States, and in Greece. Vassiliki came to Canada in 1989 after the death of her beloved husband. She travelled to and from Greece and Canada for 35 years. While here, her family became her biggest priority and her grandchildren her biggest joy. She leaves behind a great legacy. Family and friends will be received at the Smith Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1299 Murphy Rd., Sarnia, on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. A livestream of the service will be available on Vassiliki’s memorial page on the Smith Funeral Home website.
