In loving memory of Kathleen Margaret Sargent, who passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, just shy of her 83rd birthday, surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen, born on May 18, 1941, in Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ontario, was the cherished daughter of Kathleen and John Duffy. Kathleen will be forever remembered as the beloved wife of Frank Sargent, with whom she was eagerly anticipating celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on May 16th, 2024. She was a devoted mother to Frank (Barb) Sargent, Rhonda (Andy) Ryan, Ruth (Mike) Mahu, and Amanda (Brendan) Carney Kilian. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Whitney (Joey) Lawrence, Dylan (Sarah) Ryan, Spencer (Jolina) Sargent, Natalie Sargent, Margaret Mahu, Megan (Dryden) Mahu, Lily and Lilah Carney Kilian, and her great-grandchildren: Emilia (Dylan and Sarah's daughter), Ava, and Weston (Whitney and Joey's children). She was a loving sister to Raymond Duffy, Jack Duffy (Geraldine), Louise Birch, and Debbie (Tony) Doyle, and sister-in-law to Jim Mix. Kathleen was preceded in death by her sister Pat Mix, brother Bruce Duffy, and brother-in-law Harry Birch. Kathleen's memory will also be cherished by her extended family and friends. Kathleen was a dedicated volunteer for local lacrosse activities in Sarnia. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as cooking, knitting, bingo, watching tennis, and cheering for the Leafs. But above all, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and adoring grandchildren. A private service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery on Michigan Ave, Sarnia, at a later date. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Kathleen’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Diabetes Canada in Kathleen's honor. Though Kathleen may have left this world, her love, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
