After a life filled with love, family, friendship, and creativity, Deborah Gail Anne-Marie Scragg passed away on September 22, 2026, leaving behind many cherished memories.

Debbie discovered her love for painting later in life, and it became one of her greatest sources of joy. A dedicated artist at the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts, she also served on its board and was deeply connected to its creative community. Debbie painted abstract art under the signature “Winter,” expressing herself through colour, imagination, and creativity. She also shared a very special bond with her beloved dog, JB (Just Because), who brought her much love and companionship.

Debbie was the beloved wife of Dave for over 50 years. Loving mother of Samantha (Mike) and Brennan, and proud grandmother of Rhys and Connor.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings Laurie, Liane, Cecile, and Mike; her in-laws Rick (Cathy) and Bettyanne (Geoff); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends – “you all know who you are.”

Debbie was predeceased by her biological parents, George and Gail, and was lovingly raised by Larry and Rita.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Dr. Kim of Bluewater Health for his dedicated care, and home care nurse Eric for his compassionate daily visits and support.

A Celebration of Debbie’s Life will be held in May 2027. Details to follow.

In honour of Debbie’s memory, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice or the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts. Family and friends are invited to share a memory, story, or message of condolence on the Tribute Wall.
