As I sit here writing my obituary, I am gobsmacked that in a little over 7 months of diagnosis of small cell lung cancer, pulmonary lung disease and Afib, that God knows I am better off in his hands. I will miss my love of my life, Patsy Armstrong O’Connor who has given me almost 40 years of love and devotion. She has been my saviour and best friend. I will also miss my loving stepson Patrick Armstrong, my adoring grandson Zac (Mackenzie), My loving brothers Ron (late Bonnie), Brad (Sue) and Stuart (Cindy) and all of their children and grandchildren and my parents who are predeceased, Ted and Joyce Sharp. My wife’s family I have also treasured, Joanne Byers (Late Neil), Steve Sanford (Late Karen), and Michael Hinman (Sherry) and all of their family. I will also miss my cherished extended family Ann and Drew Le Clair who added joy to our hearts. Dave and Pete (Donna) Stewart have been faithful loving friends as well. I thank my Fountain View and Florida family for being there in our retirement years. Walt and Ruthann, Char and Ed, Roz and Dave, Dave and Beth, Tom and Linda are just a few of these cherished friends. I will miss my Rummoli family, my Lambton College family, my cherished neighbours and all the wonderful students who always brought me joy. I want to thank all those Doctors and nurses at Bluewater Health with all they did to help me survive. The Oncology department was there for me from the start as well as my GP Dr. W. Southcott. To that end, I would be honoured to have memorial donations to the Oncology department for new patient chairs and for donations to be made to the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund for donated funds to add life saving defibrillators across Canada. Again, thanks to you all who have left my heart filled with love and joy and always appreciated. Friends will be received at the St. Clair Parkway Golf Course, Mooretown on Friday October 3, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. with words of remembrance being offered at 5 p.m. with food and libations to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna. Messages may be left online at www.knightfuneralhome.ca Knight 519-862-2845
