Julie Lynn Smith (née Jacklin) passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the age of 63, surrounded by her loving family. Julie faced her cancer diagnosis with grace, courage, dignity, and humour that remained even in the hardest moments, reflecting the quiet strength she showed everyone to the very end.
Julie was born on July 10, 1962, in Sarnia, Ontario, to the late Ellard (Red) and Agnes (den Hollander) Jacklin. She was also the younger sister of the late Gerald Wayne Jacklin . Julie was the cherished younger sister in a household of boys, much to the delight of her older sister.
Julie is survived by her loving spouse and best friend, Ronald David Smith; her children, Jason (Kelly Clark) Loxton, Jennifer Fulton, Nicholas Lamb, and Margaret (Peggy) Lamb (Clay Walker); and her stepchildren, Jennifer (Jay) Edwards and Julie Smith. She was the beloved grandmother of Maddie and Maximus Loxton; Chelsea and Camden Fulton; and Carter, Stella, and Sawyer Edwards.
She is also survived by her siblings, Brenda Jacklin, Mark (Suzan) Jacklin, Wayde (Linda) Jacklin, Brant (Charmaine) Jacklin, and John Jacklin.
Julie will be deeply missed by her extended family at Alliance Fabricating, her dear friends, and her cherished fur babies, Abby and Russell.
Julie proved just how selfless a mother can be, serving as the sole parent in her children’s lives for many years and dedicating herself fully to their well-being.
Contributions to Julie’s memory may be made to the Sarnia Humane Society.
A private family interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery on March 24, 2026.
