Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Sumac Lodge, Angela Devina Sommise passed away at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late Frank Sommise (2001). Loving mother of the late Gerald Sommise, Mike (Debbie) Sommise and Frank (Jim) Sommise. Cherished grandmother of Devin Sommise, Duane Sommise, Trina (Darryl) Willkinson, Michael (Laruen) Sommise, Mark (Carrissa) Sommise, and Cory (Lindsay) Sommise. She will be remembered by many great and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Michele and Anna Demizio and by her seven siblings.
Angela was a very social and active person who loved being surrounded by family, friends, and her community. She was a proud member of the CWL at St. Patrick’s Church in Niagara Falls and St. Benedicks Church here in Sarnia. Before retirement, Angela worked as the supervisor for the Niagara Parks Commission. Angela was the queen of social events, often overseeing the lunches to ensure they ran smoothly and enjoyed getting together with friends for BINGO or card games. She then retired and became a part of the Club Italia in Niagara Falls. Angela will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on September 11, 2025 at 12:00 noon at St. Benedict RC Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia. A private burial at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls ON.
