It is with great sadness that we announced the passing of Nancy Stock (nee) Tobin. Nancy passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024 at Bear Creek Terrace (Petrolia) at the age of 85.
Loving Mother of Jeffery Stock, Jennifer Green-Stock, and Greg (Cheryl) Stock.
She leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Cameron (Haleigh), Patrick (Amy), Joey, Maddison (Dyllon), and 2 great grandchildren.
Nancy was born to Thomas & Cecile (Levesque) Tobin from Edmundston, NB. She came from a large family of 13 siblings.
Predeceased by: Brothers Leo, Ray, Al, Ron, Gord, & Jackie & Sisters Noreen, Pat, Marlene, & Dot (Dorothea).
She will be dearly missed by her Brother Tom (Tobey), Sister Terena, & Brother-in-law Chuck as well as many Nieces & Nephews.
Nancy was a devoted and hard working Mother, with her character and strength showing in those she leaves behind. She took great pride in caring for her home and gardens, enjoying many hours working in the large yard and beautiful flowerbeds. Her red roses being some of her favourites. She was an avid bowler back in the day and loved her old school country music.
Her hard work and diligence shone through in her career. She started in the entry level of housekeeping, then working her way up to management at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Nancy also extended her efforts into the community volunteering with the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
For as hard as Nancy worked, there was always time for Family. She loved having her grandchildren over for sleepovers and playtime when they were little. And later, as they grew, for visits and banana bread.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to follow at (Moose Lodge) all are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Society of Sarnia.
