Kathleen Victoria Tobey went home to be with her beloved Lord and Saviour on Monday, April 13th, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, at the age of 57. Kathleen was adored by her husband of 32 years, Rev. Troy Tobey. She was the loving mother of Josiah, Lauren (Gideon), and Micah (Maddie), and cherished “Gramma” of Jane and Annie. She was the treasured daughter of Joanne (Mike) Revell, she was sister to Kenneth Stephens and James Stephens. She became deeply endeared to her in-laws, Bill and Donelda Tobey. Kath was deeply loved by family, friends, and the church congregation at Lakeshore Community Church in Bright’s Grove.
Kathleen lived life to the full, as described in John 10:10, and her life stands as an amazing testimony to the transformative power of her Christian faith. She loved worship music, a day at the beach, baseball, sappy rom-com movies, snacking on doritos, buying purses, and time with family. She adored her little grandbabies. Overcoming challenges in her early life, she had a bubbly smile and her joy was infectious. Even during her battles with cognitive loss, her smile could still brighten the room. Many thanks to her doctors and caregivers, the staff at Bluewater Health CCOG 5th floor, and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice.
The family will share a private graveside service. A public celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held at Lakeshore Community Church on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with family and friends being received from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A light lunch will follow the service.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Lakeshore Community Church (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
