Peacefully, on Saturday, September 06, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Mary-Lou Turcotte passed away at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Arthur (2022) Turcotte. Loving mother of Murielle Turcotte, Renee Ferweda (husband Gerald), and the late Phillippe Turcotte (2022). Cherished grandmother of Justin McLachlen (wife Annick), Adam McLachlen (wife Samara), Camille Gaida, Lucas Gaida, Chantal McGee (husband James), Nicole Regep, Erica Gaida, Gabrielle Regep, the late Joseph Gaida (1999), Frances Gaida and Denzel Burks. Prized great-grandchildren of Nolan McLachlen, Jace McLachlen and Andy McLachlen. Beloved sister-in-law of Bernadette Paquette and the late Edward Turcotte (2002) (wife Beth).
Mary-Lou’s upbringing was in Buffalo, and she lived the rest of her life in Sarnia. She loved her crossword puzzles, especially from the weekend Toronto Star and Global and Mail. She was known for her kindness and giving nature. Mary-Lou enjoyed trips to Edmonton to visit relatives, cousins, and especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary-Lou was very family-oriented and enjoyed our time together. She also thoroughly enjoyed her annual travels with her lifelong friends Pat, Linda and the late Catherine. She also spent countless hours attending to her red roses in the front yard listening to Elvis Presley.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Ave, Sarnia, on Monday Sept 15, 2025, at 11:00 with a luncheon to follow. A private internment of ashes will be held later, at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society of Sarna Lambton, Bluewater Health, or a charity of choice.
