Sheila Wakefield (nee Brennan) passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the age of 75. Beloved mother to Heather (Wayne) Blythe and Christopher. Loving Nana to Nolan and Logan. Sheila is survived by her brother Michael Brennan and her niece Sherri (Jeff) Roussell. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Patricia. Sheila will be missed by many close friends and extended family.
Sheila was born in Sudbury, ON, and spent several years living in Montreal, QC, and Moosejaw, SK. Her family finally settled in Scarborough, ON, where she met many of her lifelong friends, with whom she shared her love of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. Sheila moved to Sarnia in the 1970’s and spent her career working at Nova Chemicals, where she retired from in 2015.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Their care and compassion helped her greatly in her final days.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior.
