Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on June 5, at Bluewater Health, Edward Carl Wallace passed away at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Sally Wallace for 42 loving years. Loving father of Holly Wallace and Ashley Wallace (Derek Hoogland). Cherished Opa of Tina and Claire. Dear brother of Jack (Annelies) Wallace, Henry (Cathy) Wallace, Rick (Bev) Wallace, Netty (Santo) Giorno, Lynda (Wayne) Smith, and Nancy (Rob) McCartney, and nephew Darryl (Rosa) DeVos. Remembered by many other neices and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Jantina Wallace and his sister Tilly Wallace.
Ed's presence brightened the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He was thoughtful when it came to complex and divisive issues, articulating a broad perspective and sensitivity toward equity. Above all, he is remembered for his profound patience, and his love and delight for granddaughters Tina and Claire.
He lived his life with a boundless determination to conquer any challenge that came his way. He was a methodical and intelligent worker who always had a project on the go, whether working for himself, or helping his children, his neighbours, his son-in-law's business or the church. There seemed to be no limit to what Ed could accomplish with his hands and his heart. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church, 5834 Blackwell Sideroad, Sarnia, on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to charity of your choice (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
