On August 22, 2024 at 4:17am, a member of the Community Response Division was on routine patrol in the area of the Northgate Plaza when he noted a dumpster that was fully engulfed in flames.  The dumpster was against a building and the fire posed a significant risk to the building structure.

The Sarnia Fire Department responded and immediately extinguished the fire.

There was minimal damage to the building, however, to potential for the strucure to ignite was significant.  Obviously, if this occured there was potential for this fire to spread and cause significant damage to the attached structures.

If you have any information regarding this arson, please contact the Sarnia Police Service and speak with Detective Constable Zachary Douglas at (519)-344-8861 x6247.
