Lambton College’s Student Administrative Council (SAC) is teeing up a new tradition in support of student-athletes.

The first annual Lambton College SAC Golf Classic is set for Friday, August 22 at Widder Station Golf, Grill & Tap House, and will raise funds for the College’s Athletic Bursary program, which supports students participating in varsity sports.
The event promises a full day of fun and friendly competition, with a four-person scramble format and shotgun start. Registration is $700 per foursome, and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, food and drink samples at select tee blocks, on-course contests and prizes, a welcome bag, lunch, and a post-round dinner. A social event at the Lion’s Den Pub & Grill on the Lambton College campus will follow the tournament.
“Our student-athletes make a point of being active in our community through volunteer work, youth sports programs, and visits to local schools,” said James Grant, Manager of Athletics & Student Life at Lambton College. “With this fundraiser, we’re giving community members an opportunity to have a great day out at Widder Station and show our student-athletes that their dedication is appreciated.”
Presented by Cestar Group, the event also offers a range of sponsorship opportunities still available for local businesses and supporters. Student-athletes from all varsity teams will be volunteering at the tournament, offering golfers and sponsors a chance to connect directly with the individuals benefiting from the bursary program.
During the 2024–2025 academic year, Lambton College’s Scholarship & Bursary program distributed more than $800,000 in support of student success and wellness. The bursaries help remove financial barriers to postsecondary education by assisting students with demonstrated need.
