The Sarnia Sting are now just one win away from sweeping the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL Western Conference Semi-Finals after a 5-3 win at the Dow Event Center in Michigan, Tuesday.
Nolan Burke opened the scoring in Game 3 early in the first period, but Saginaw’s Sebastien Gervais fired back to even things up at 1-1, through to the third period.
Things lit up in the third, when Luca Del Bel Belluz notched another one in, making it 2-1.
Saginaw’s Zayne Parekh would add another, then Sandis Vilmanis scored his fourth goal of the playoffs to make it 3-2 for the Sting.
Ethan Ritchie found the open net for a 4-2 lead, but Parekh struck again for Saginaw, with just under two minutes left in the third.
Sting captain Nolan Dillingham capped things off to make it a 5-3 final.
The Sting lead the series 3-0 and return to the Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Thursday night for Game 4.
