The Sarnia Golf and Curling Club recently hosted a full draw of 16 teams for the 2026 Women’s Two-Day Bonspiel. Local talent took centre stage as Sarnia teams claimed both the top prize and the runner-up position in a field that drew competitors from across Southwestern Ontario.

The event, held on February 2 and 3, was sponsored by Randy Dunn of Wolverine Contracting and Engineering. Teams travelled from Ilderton, Highland, Chatham, Ingersoll, and Burlington to compete against local Sarnia curlers in four games of play.

First prize was awarded to the Julie Kelly team representing the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club. The winning squad included skip Julie Kelly, vice Sheri Kelly, second Jan McChesney, and lead Linda Green-Smith.

The runner-up spot was also secured by a local crew, led by Diane Yurkewich of Sarnia. Organizers expressed gratitude to the participants and the community members who attended to cheer on the athletes.
