This episode of the Sarnia Journal podcast features a rapid-fire question round with Joanne Fearns, the Fundraising & Volunteer Coordinator of Victim Services Sarnia-Lambton. The segment is designed to quickly highlight the essential services the organization offers to the Sarnia-Lambton community.

The interview is being released during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an international campaign running from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day). This global initiative calls for action to end all forms of gender-based violence.

The episode is also part of The Centre's local campaign, which is grounded in three powerful actions: Listen, Learn, and Act. This campaign includes several special series:

  • Talk About It Tuesday: Highlighting community partners like Victim Services and the John Howard Society, focusing on their local impact.

  • The Voices of Activism: Featuring team members from The Centre sharing their personal definitions of activism.

  • The Centre's Reel Talk: A new Community Education REEL series unpacking various topics to spark crucial conversations.

The overarching message of the campaign and the episode is an invitation to the community to listen to survivors, learn from one another, and act for change to build a safer, more informed, and compassionate Sarnia-Lambton.
