Thirty-two swimmers from the Sarnia Rapids 1 Swim Team competed at the St. Clair Erie Aquatic League swim championships in Aylmer, Ont. and eight of them finished with at least one first place finish.
Leading the way at the meet earlier this month were Ali Page, 7, and Mark deGuzman, 13, who had a first place sweep by winning all of their races.
Page topped the field in the 25-yard butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle, while deGuzman came first in the 50-yard butterfly, 100 metre IM, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.
The team’s coach is Sue Athansopoulos.
