The City of Sarnia is implementing a series of bus route updates approved by council last summer.

Passengers using Sarnia Transit will see service changes beginning Sunday, January 18, with updates affecting a dozen routes across the city.
According to information published by the City of Sarnia, the changes include a mix of route adjustments and new services. Most of the updates were approved by city council in July as part of ongoing efforts to improve efficiency, reduce delays, and respond to ridership demand.

Two new routes are being introduced. Route 19, known as the Retail Connector, is designed to link retail areas in the city’s east end. Another new route, Route 20, uses the recently opened Rapids Parkway connection beneath Highway 402. This route replaces the former Route 5 and has been renamed to avoid confusion, as it no longer travels along Rosedale Avenue.
The city has indicated that service levels are adjusted based on ridership data and stop usage, with the goal of maximizing access for the majority of transit users.
Notices about the updates have been posted at transit terminals and on buses. The city expects to review the changes after implementation but aims to limit further adjustments in the near future.
