Local doula and childbirth educator Javi Aviles-Saez is offering two free prenatal classes this November to help Sarnia-Lambton families prepare for birth and early feeding.

The sessions are part of a new community prenatal education initiative and will take place at the Radiant Community Centre, now located at 109 Mitton St. S. in Mitton Village.

“There’s so much information online that it can be overwhelming for new parents,” said Aviles-Saez. “These free sessions are a chance to connect face-to-face, ask real questions, and grow confidence while in community.”

The two sessions are:

  • Savvy Birth 101 (Thursday, November 20, 6:30–7:30 p.m.): An Evidence Based Birth® class that helps expecting parents navigate hospital birth, understand what evidence-based care means, and build a supportive, team-based birth experience.

  • Breastfeeding in the First 7 Days (Saturday, November 29, 2:00–3:00 p.m.): A one-hour introduction to feeding your baby in the first week, covering early feeding cues, latching basics, and practical ways to feel confident and supported during the newborn stage.

Aviles-Saez is an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, doula, and childbirth educator offering accessible education and community-based support for parents and professionals throughout Sarnia-Lambton.

Both classes are free to attend, but registration is required. Families can register online here.
