SiriusXM Canada is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a big way by bringing back its popular SiriusXM Music Town program. This nationwide initiative is on a mission to find a deserving Canadian town and reward its community with an unforgettable live concert featuring the JUNO Award-winning rock band, The Beaches.
This program is all about celebrating local pride and the stories that make small towns special. SiriusXM is looking to give a major concert experience to a community that wouldn’t typically be on a major touring circuit.
Now through Sunday, October 5, you can nominate your community by visiting https://musictown.siriusxm.ca/ . All you need to do is share what makes your town unique and what it would mean to your community to host a show by The Beaches.
On Tuesday, October 14, SiriusXM Canada will announce the eight towns with the most compelling nominations. These communities will then enter a rallying and voting phase. This is where everyone, from local business owners to dedicated superfans, can show their hometown pride by casting daily votes and spreading the word on social media. Every like, share, and comment will count toward the final decision.
On October 29, the winning town will be crowned the 2025 SiriusXM Music Town! From there, plans will get underway to host an incredible community celebration and concert this fall.
The Beaches, known for their bold anthems and high-energy performances, are ready to play for fans in a new setting. “We’ve had the privilege of playing big stages and festivals, but there’s nothing quite like performing at home in front of our Canadian fans,” says lead singer Jordan Miller. "We’re so excited to bring SiriusXM Music Town to a community that doesn’t often host big shows.”
SiriusXM Music Town is a reflection of SiriusXM Canada’s ongoing commitment to supporting Canadian artists and culture. Over the past two decades, the company has contributed more than $200 million to Canadian Content Development, providing a significant platform for homegrown talent.
Rob Keen, Senior Vice President at SiriusXM Canada, explains that the program is the perfect way to mark their upcoming 20th anniversary. “There’s never been a better time to do what we do best – bring people together through the power of music and get Canadian fans closer to the artists and experiences they love.”
